Imurse was formerly a nonprofit community theatre and grassroots artist collective on the islands of Hawaii that used technology to capture the arts. However, the seed of the new sprouts from the shell of the old, which is the essence of transformation.

Imurse is now an international humanitarian immersive technology brand that focuses on that which has the greatest impact and together we are a movement.

We are a collective of technologists, scientists, artists, humanitarians, environmentalists, and do-gooders that are committed to connecting an international network of individuals and organizations using technology and immersive media to positively transform and elevate our planet.

Our nonprofit has joined part of a nonprofit mutual aid network (specifically R4Relief, Thaumazo, WNCRR/SOCRR) and we are operationalizing a new software platform that was developed by this grassroots conglomerate called R4D2.

R4D2 is a disaster relief and response application that was developed in response to WNC’s Hurricane Helene. It is the first disaster relief and response app of its kind. R4D2 connected 433 distribution sites across WNC, has delivered 15,000+ hot meals in the last 100 days, 1000+ supplies, with over 50 volunteer drivers, 10 refrigerated trucks, 43 starlink setups, and 200+ part-time interorganizational volunteers. It works via “needs matching” by connecting donated goods and food with distribution sites and drivers that deliver.

Due to the timing of the LA wildfires, we were able to quickly duplicate R4D2 with Southern California and are now operationalizing within grassroots communities and NGOs of SoCal. We have partnered with large networks like MALAN (43k members) and EndHungerLA to begin distributing free food and supplies to distribution centers immediately, with volunteers across the state using our free application to solve major disaster relief and response supply and hunger demands.
